Opera is free (as a beer) and without ADs since September, 20th
In these days the famous browser Opera has become freely downloadable and usable. It's also funny that it is spreading on Symbian (and non-Symbian) based handies. The Opera Mini browser is in beta-testing for the customers of the norwegian telco TV2.
It's normal to ask how is this possible, by a company that is so far from the Free Software. Here is the answer: the ubiquitous Google sponsors the Opera Software, paying a lot of money for every Google search made with the browser's integrated field. The same happens with the Mozilla Foundation, developer of Firefox and Mozilla, that gains about 30 million of dollars per year thanks to Google searches.
